During this past summer and fall season, we raised four hogs rotating them through pastures, supplying them with plenty of fresh water, hay, and fed them a specially mixed hog ration using local oats from Rockwell’s, our own non-GMO ear corn grown using organic methods, and organic soybean meal from Lakeview Grains in Penn Yan, NY. Our hogs were also treated to extra garden produce and leftover pumpkins—and enjoyed doing what pigs are meant to do—rooting the ground—while helping us to build our soil!
Leona Meats processed them using no-nitrate smoking methods along with organic spices and casings, vacuum packed.
