Greener Pastures Pastured Pork is ready for your freezer!

During this past summer and fall season, we raised four hogs rotating them through pastures, supplying them with plenty of fresh water, hay, and fed them a specially mixed hog ration using local oats from Rockwell's, our own non-GMO ear corn grown using organic methods, and organic soybean meal from Lakeview Grains in Penn Yan, NY. Our hogs were also treated to extra garden produce and leftover pumpkins—and enjoyed doing what pigs are meant to do—rooting the ground—while helping us to build our soil!
Leona Meats processed them using no-nitrate smoking methods along with organic spices and casings, vacuum packed.

The Troy Sale Barn is pleased to announce that they are partnering with the Troy Chamber of Commerce for Hometown Christmas, on Saturday, November 26th, from 10 am til 1 pm. Celebrate Small Business Saturday by shopping local in Troy, visiting the Troy Sale Barn, and see what Troy has to offer!
The vendors in the Troy Sale Barn will have paintings, homemade soaps, lotions, herbal products, greens, meat, maple syrup, honey, vinegars, beeswax, apple cider, garlic, baked goods, wool, yarn, wood crafts, essential oils, and fresh wreaths. Visit the Troy Sale Barn to check out the progress of the renovations, while browsing and chatting with local farmers and artisans!

Greener Pastures farm welcomed its first calf born on the farm this past week. Mother Annie and her bull calf are enjoying the fall flush of grass.

The greenhouse is in full bloom--still stocked with annuals, herbs and vegetables--all grown without pesticides. The greenhouse will be open on Thursday, June 2nd from 4-6 pm, and this Sunday, June 5th, from 3 pm til 5 pm.
